Founded in 1963, Jim & Ron's Service Inc. has been serving Sioux Falls, SD for over 50 years. Many things have changed over the years, but one thing has remained constant from the start. We've stayed true to our dedication to helping customers with the best service available.

Our Early Days
1963 Through 1985
In 1963, Jim and Ron opened a Derby station on 41st Street. At that time, 41st Street was still a gravel road, and I-29 was just in the early stages of development. The field behind their gas station is now the Empire Mall. Jim and Ron had just one wrecker to start, and the duo took turns doing the towing for their newly established business.
As the business began to grow, the pair decided to look for a new location. They moved to several different spots on W. 12th Street. During this period, they expanded from one truck to three. By the early 1980s, Jim & Ron's Service Inc. was the first towing company to purchase a wheel lift in the area, which is now the standard on all tow trucks.
Our Modern Era
1985 to the Present
Jim retired in 1985, and Ron took over the company. He made the decision to purchase some property on Kiwanis Avenue in order to build a new service facility. In 1986, Jim & Ron's Service Inc. moved into the new location. At this time, the company expanded two times, adding two more trucks to the fleet while on Kiwanis Avenue.
The Kiwanis Avenue location is still active. It now serves as the sales office for impounded and repossessed vehicles that are for sale.
Then, in 1996, Ron retired. His son, Paul, took over the company and didn't miss a beat. The company continued to grow by adding two additional trucks to the Blue Angel fleet.
In 2007, Jim & Ron's Service Inc. had outgrown its location once again. The company moved the towing and impound departments to the current location on 3424 W. Runge Place, maintaining the Kiwanis location strictly for sales. We now have a 2.5-acre storage facility with a much larger office and service building. We now have 15 trucks in our impressive fleet.
Even with all our growth, we still take pride in being a local, family-owned business for two generations and counting. We've proudly served the community for 60 years, and we look forward to serving you for all your towing and roadside needs in the future.
